ANNUAL CHAPTER REPORTS
In April Chairs and Vice Chairs of all chapters will be mailed packets containing required annual report forms. Forms are also available on line, several of which are also available for online submission. Any questions about the reports, or for help in completing them, contact Candace. Report deadline: June 30.
Please note that in order to receive your annual rebate your chapter must submit all sections of the annual report by the June 30th deadline.
The annual reports for chapters include:
The Technical Program Report detailing the upcoming year's program schedule. The more detail provided on this report the better because this information is entered into the searchable chapter meeting schedule online.
The Chapter Officer Report listing all incoming officers and executive committee members for your chapter. Updated contact information and telephone numbers are important ensuring the information on file is the most current.
Quality & Recognition Program Report is used to award the three, four and five star chapters.
Financial Report (due Feb. 15 each year) detailing the chapter's financial status. It is used by headquarters to prepare federal income tax filings if necessary.
Chapter of Excellence Award Nomination (optional) is used by Chapter Council to determine the best of the best in each of the five chapter size categories.
All report links can be found by visiting the Chapter/Committee section of the ASM website.
ASM INTERNATIONAL EMERGING PROFESSIONALS PROGRAM

Do you know an Emerging Professional within the ASM community? Are you an Emerging Professional who wants to learn more about ASM committee involvement?
In recognition of the importance of young professionals to the future of ASM International, we are seeking recently graduated ASM members (one to five years post graduation) to make up our first class of emerging professionals! Each year, this committee will organize and execute a program for the ASM Annual Meeting held at MS&T, giving its members first hand experience with the inner workings of an ASM committee. Emerging professionals will have the opportunity to interact with and learn from a diverse group of professionals who are acknowledged leaders within ASM International and within the field.
This program is designed to build loyalty to ASM International among young professionals. ASM is embracing young professionals and assisting them in the transition from student member to professional member. ASM will pay up to $500.00 for both hotel and airfare for an emerging professional to attend the ASM Annual Meeting. Prior to the meeting, the recipient receive a schedule of activities s/he is invited to attend. An RSVP is required of the award recipient. Not only does involvement serve as a precursor to further ASM committee participation, this award can be included in the emerging professional’s resume. Induction into a class of emerging professionals gives the recipient immediate camaraderie and friendship within the society.
Please submit an application package consisting of:
- A current resume highlighting prior interest in ASM, demonstrated through participation in a student chapter, local chapter, or conference.
- A one-page essay (typed and double-spaced) addressing the aspects of ASM that most interest you, specifically which committees you would like to become involved with in the future. Please address the following points:
