Attend the premier event for brazing and soldering

IBSC 2006 to be in San Antonio, Texas during “Fiesta Week”

“The world’s only focused international technical conference on joining by brazing and soldering.”

Welcome to the third International Brazing & Soldering Conference sponsored by ASM International® and the American Welding Society, and endorsed by the German Welding Society (DVS), the Japan Welding Society (JWS), and the European Association of Brazing and Soldering (EABS). IBSC brings together scientists and engineers from around the globe involved in the research, development and application of brazing and soldering.

This year’s event begins with two pre-event education courses covering timely issues and solutions on brazing applications and processes. The comprehensive three-day technical program has one of the largest sessions on ceramic, glass and composite joining ever held. Other sessions cover filler metals, braze processes, braze modeling and process reliability, and specifically, applications for light metal joining, aircraft and aerospace, transportation, energy and thermal management. There is also an extended session on solder technology and its use in electronic packaging. At the three-day tabletop exhibit, you’ll network with equipment, product and service vendors that supply the international brazing industry and technical community. New to IBSC this year is the AWS “Interview With A Legend”. Our interview takes place with Mr. Bob Peaslee, affectionately known throughout the world as “The Father of Nickel Brazing.”

IBSC 2006 takes place in beautiful San Antonio, Texas amidst one of its jewels – the Paseo del Rio - better known as the “River Walk.” Sequestered 20 feet below street level, the River Walk boasts cobblestone and flagstone paths bordering both sides of the San Antonio River, and winds its way through the middle of the business district. The River Walk has multiple personalities - quiet and park-like in some stretches, while other areas are full of activity with European-style sidewalk cafes, specialty boutiques, nightclubs and gleaming high-rise hotels. The River Walk stretches for approximately two-and-a-half miles. A stop at Rivercenter – a dazzling three-level glass shopping, dining and entertainment complex – is a must.

Fiesta San Antonio is a 10-day festival featuring over 100 events sponsored by some 95 non-profit organizations, including local military units. Events include parades, festivals, concerts, athletic events, balls and conferences. Fiesta San Antonio still keeps to its original goal of remembering the battles of the Alamo and San Jacinto. It has grown to celebrate the many cultures of the city. Fiesta San Antonio Official Opening Ceremony will take place on Friday, April 21, 2006 at 9 a.m. - 10 a.m. in the Alamo Plaza. We look forward to seeing you there.
