Matthew Dahar … a Materials Camp graduate
• Eisenman Materials Camp, 2007
• University of Pittsburgh, B.S. Material Science and Engineering, Magna Cum Laude, 2012
When Matt attended the Eisenman Materials Camp in 2007, he thought he wanted to study Materials Engineering, but he wasn't really sure.
"Attending the Materials Camp introduced me to many people in the field and solidified for me my intent to study Materials Science in college."
While in college, Matt attended ASM meetings, and the members he met and interacted at those meetings had been a constant support for him. "I continue to interact with the students and mentors that I met at my week at Materials Camp and many of them have served as mentors and advisors in my career path." Matt volunteered at the teachers camp held at Case Western Reserve University.
Matt had three coop rotations at GE Aviation from 2010-2011, namely: Combustor support – Materials Application Engineering; Air Foil Material Air Development – Analyzed Advanced TBC; and Failure Analysis.
He is currently a PhD student at Case Western Reserve University, Materials Science and Engineering, expected to finish in 2016.
