CASTI Library Minimum System Requirements

ASM International is now the exclusive distributor of the CASTI Metals Databooks Series e-books. Before you purchase any one of the Metals Databooks on CD-ROM from ASM International, please make note of the requirements indicated below.

All of the following system requirements apply to e-books (CD-ROMs) from both the CASTI Metals Databooks Series and the CASTI Guidebook Series.

This page lists the minimum requirements which must be met before the any e-books can be installed on your computer. Please ensure your computer meets these minimum requirements before you purchase any e-books from the CASTI Metals Databooks Series or from the CASTI Guidebook Series.

System Requirements:

Connection to the Internet - You must be online to authorize and install e-books on CD-ROM. Ensure that the computer with the connection to the Internet is the same computer on which your e-book(s) will be installed. Users are responsible for ensuring that firewalls or other software/hardware configurations do not prevent the CD-ROM software from authorizing the installation online. Neither CASTI nor ASM International can provide technical support for your firewall configuration.

486 minimum, Pentium or higher recommended

Windows 95/98/2000, NT 4 with Service Pack 3 or later

16 MB application RAM

10 MB hard disk space, plus 50 MB additional temporary disk space

Mouse and CD-ROM drive (4x speed minimum)

800 x 600 video resolution (higher resolution will improve readability)

Before you purchase an e-book on CD-ROM, please note the following:

CASTI Library CD-ROMs are available as single-user license products only. CASTI Library CD-ROMs cannot be installed on network systems.

Users are responsible for ensuring that firewalls or other software/hardware configurations do not prevent the CASTI Library software from authorizing the installation online. Neither CASTI nor ASM International can provide technical support for your firewall configuration. Contact your network technical support personnel to resolve such issues.

ASM International does not provide techinical support. ASM International only distributes the CASTI Metals Databooks Series. If you require technical support, contact CASTI Publishing Inc. at casti@casti.ca

Technical support is valid for 30 days from the date of purchase. Technical support is only available for registered software. Please install and register your purchased e-book(s) immediately to qualify for technical support. To register your e-book(s), fill out and then fax your registration sheet to CASTI at 780-421-1308.
