Over 250 companies and organizations expected for AeroMat ’06
Seattle, the northwestern capital of the U.S. aerospace and aviation industry, provides a most appropriate host city for AeroMat 2006, The 17th Advanced Materials & Processes Conference and Exhibition (AeroMat) is the premier annual event focusing exclusively on process development and advanced aerospace materials, structures and propulsion systems. The AeroMat audience represents materials producers, material fabricators, OEM's, government labs and academia. Each year, more than 250 such companies and organizations send attendees to AeroMat.

This year, AeroMat will focus on the benefits and challenges of globalization, low cost manufacturing, the emerging and implementation of materials and processes, and titanium alloy technology.

The technical symposia will cover over 40 sessions this year, including the International Symposium on Superplasticity and Superplastic Forming (SPF) Technology. A two-day exposition will showcase the latest equipment and services offered by the industry’s leading companies.

ISEC ’06 to feature the latest research and development in surface engineering
ASM's 5th Annual International Surface Engineering Congress and Exhibition (ISEC) is North America's only event focusing on all aspects of surface engineering technologies and industrial applications. This is where you'll find the latest on research involving surface treatments and coatings, industrial applications of surface engineering processes and techniques and industry-specific challenges and solutions using surface engineering technologies.

The congress focuses on practical engineering as well as the science of surface treatments and coatings. A featured practicum (practical workshop) led by experts helps participants solve specific problems.

Programming for 2006 includes micro and nanoscale technologies (featuring deposition of coatings, surface properties and tribology) and environmentally benign surface engineering. SMT 19 highlights include applications affecting wear, corrosion, oxidation, erosion and abrasion, and experimental and theoretical approaches to understand, develop and utilize coatings.

Thermal Spray Society to celebrate 100 years of Progress and Growth
An international delegation of materials and design engineers, research scientists, manufacturers, suppliers and users will gather in Seattle, Washington May 15th – 17th, 2006 to celebrate 100 years of progress and discuss future challenges and growth opportunities at the International Thermal Spray Conference and Exposition (ITSC). ITSC is sponsored and organized by the ASM Thermal Spray Society (TSS), the German Welding Society (DVS), and the International Institute of Welding (IIW) and is the preeminent global thermal spray event and comes to North America only once every three years.

In addition to celebrating the centennial of thermal spray, the ITSC 2006 Conference & Exposition will be unique because it is co-located with two of ASM International’s most successful events – The ASM International Surface Engineering Congress and Exhibition (ISEC) and The Advanced Aerospace Materials & Processes Conference and Exposition (AeroMat). These are two stellar events that will serve to compliment the overall experience attendees will have at ITSC.
