The Metal Halide Lamp (MH)
How Metal Halide Lamps Generate Such Bright Light So Efficiently
Metal halide lamps last 10,000 to 20,000 hours, and produce about 75 to 100 lumens per watt, which is 3 to 5 times higher than incandescent lamps. It has a fused quartz arc tube where halide salts combine with mercury vapor to create its great quality light when an electric arc zaps through the gaseous mixture.
