How to Drain an Entire Lake

This video from the History Channel shows how Lake Peigneur in Louisiana disappeared in 1980 when the location of a salt mine was miscalculated during exploratory oil drilling in the lake. The mine was penetrated by the 14-inch drill, and the oil derrick, the lake, boats, barges, and 65 acres of land and trees were sucked into a huge salt cavern.
