Producing titanium by electrochemical processes

This video from Metalysis shows the FFC Cambridge Process, an electrochemical method in which titanium, tantalum, and other metal oxides are cathodically reduced to titanium metal in molten salts. The process operates at lower temperature and lower energy consumption than traditional melting technologies because reduction takes place in the solid-state.
