Lumenous fabricates and characterizes medical devices made of Nitinol, stainless, and cobalt-chrome

Lumenous Device Technologies, Sunnyvale, Calif., offers research, development, and design expertise for medical devices.  Alloys include 300-series stainless steels, Nitinol (NiTi), and cobalt-chrome alloys. Typical material thickness ranges from 25 to 500 microns, and devices are cut with laser beams. Testing (analytical labs), finite element analysis, fatigue testing, and biocompatibility analysis are also offered.

Kerf width varies with alloy, thickness, and speed of process. A typical range is 20 microns to 100 microns. We recommend planning on a kerf of 30 microns if your part can accommodate it. Strut width variation typically falls within a +/-5 micron window. Typical material thickness ranges from 25 to 500 microns.

R&D projects benefit from its design skill and track record of developing technically and commercially successful devices.  Device design and process development activities enable commercially viable manufacturing.
