Summer tradeshow covers international metallurgy market

A metallurgy trade fair quartet—GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS, and NEWCAST 2015—known as “The Bright World of Metals,” is taking place June16-20 at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany. The four events provide a complete overview of the international metallurgy market with an international focus. Each event concentrates on metals and their complex, innovative processing methods. Overall, some 2000 exhibitors will present the latest technology and cutting-edge innovations in 12 halls.

GIFA

GIFA is the largest of the four trade fairs. The product range presented at GIFA covers the entire market for foundry plants and equipment, die-casting machinery and melting operations. In addition, measurement and testing technology, environmental protection, and waste disposal will also be important topics. With its Technical Forum and the GIFA Conference, the event will not just be an exhibition but also a high-quality lecture and conference forum. The emphasis will be on the latest technical innovations from research.

Top global players in the industry will participate. In the die-casting segment, exhibitors include the German manufacturers Bühler and Frech and the Italian company Italpresse. Market leaders in the foundry and foundry chemistry fields such as the German companies Hüttenes-Albertus, Foseco ABB Automation, Künkel-Wagner, Heinrich-Wagner/Sinto, ASK Chemicals, the Austrian company Fill, the Spanish company Loramendi and the Danish company DISA will take part.

NEWCAST

NEWCAST proved to be a successful concept. Launched in 2003 as the youngest member of the “Bright World of Metals,” it immediately attracted a global response from both exhibitors and visitors. In addition to the castings presentations in the exhibition halls, NEWCAST also offers information about research findings. The forum will provide insights into the technical and scientific progress in foundry technology. The NEWCAST Award will honor the most innovative and creative castings from the industry. NEWCAST focuses on ferrous and non-ferrous metal castings, with trade representatives, logistic companies and service providers presenting their products. Market leaders exhibiting at NEWCAST include Georg Fischer Automotive, Claas Guss, KSM Castings, Gießerei Heunisch and Finoba Automotive.

METEC

The major plant manufacturers are a key feature of METEC. Suppliers of plant and equipment for iron making, steel making, and non-ferrous metal production as well as for casting and forming molten steel and rolling and steel mills will have a particularly impressive presence at the show. The biggest players at METEC include the German company SMS SIEMAG, SIEMENS/MITSUBISHI, the Italian company DANIELI, and the Chinese company SINOSTEEL.

METEC has been a success in Düsseldorf for 35 years and is the undisputed leader in its industry. In addition to the exhibits, METEC also features an ancillary program, consisting of the European Metallurgical Steel Technology and Application Days (ESTAD), which will focus on raw materials, fireproofing, coking, blast furnaces and iron and steel making as well as the European Metallurgical Conference (EMC) covering the entire light metal industry and the trade conference Pb Zn 2015. At the Lead & Zinc Symposium, extractive metallurgy and processing concepts will be discussed.

THERMPROCESS

Industrial furnaces, industrial heat treatment plants and thermal processes will be the main exhibit categories at THERMPROCESS. With Inductotherm and LOI Thermprocess, ALD Vacuum Technologies, SMS Siemag, ABP Induction, Otto Junker and Maerz Andritz, the industry’s world market leaders will participate in THERMPROCESS 2015.

At the THERMPROCESS symposium, experts will address technical innovations relating to heat treatment and modern energy engineering plant concepts. The Symposium is organized by the VDMA (German Engineering Federation) thermprocess technology trade association. Emphasis at the FOGI special show organized by Forschungsgemeinschaft Industrieofenbau e.V. (FOGI) is on the heating, smelting, and casting of metals, heating technology as well as the heat and surface treatment of metal, ceramics, and glass.

Innovative ecoMetals campaign

Reducing energy consumption and resources is vital in the energy-intensive industries covered by GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS, and NEWCAST 2015. With the ecoMetals campaign, Messe Düsseldorf highlights exhibitors who strongly focus on energy saving in production, make efficient use of materials and resources, to a large extent use renewable energy sources and optimize their technology to minimize energy consumption and resource input. Guided highlight tours (in English and German) to the ecoMetals participants will be offered during the four trade fairs.
