ASM International has recently partnered with re:Members to help expand the support we offer to Chapters. Read below to learn more about this exciting development.

Who is re:Members?

re:Members is an organization that provides powerful solutions that help improve the success of their clients. Among the many services they offer are valuable tools to associations like ASM to enhance Professional Chapter support.

What are the benefits?

Through re:Members, ASM Chapters will be able to take advantage of their Chapter Performance solutions:

  • Financial Management Platform (known as Billhighway) –  the centerpiece of this platform is the creation of secure Chapter checking/savings accounts* through a central online system. This will allow Chapters to send and receive payments (both online and in person), export detailed automated financial reports, utilize security tools made specifically for volunteers, and take advantage of simplified account administration.
  • Event Management Software (powered by Memberplanet) – allows Chapters to create online event registration forms for free or ticketed events, giving them the ability to sell event tickets online and track registrations. When someone registers, the system will automatically send an email confirmation including their ticket, receipt, and calendar invite.
  • Communications Module (powered by Memberplanet) – a mass email communication tool that will include the ability to send out broadcast messages, create campaigns, segment lists, upload non-member lists and prospects, track/honor unsubscribe requests, and also provide access to reporting (open rates, click rates, etc.).
  • Websites (powered by Memberplanet) – a full-featured website that will match ASM’s brand while also providing intuitive and volunteer-friendly features like drag and drop site building. These websites will replace the current ASM Connect Chapter sites, which will no longer be available July 2026 – please see below for more details.

Fully utilized, these tools can completely replace local bank checking and savings accounts*, payment processors (such as PayPal, Stripe, and Venmo), event software (such as Eventbrite, Ticketbud, etc.), mass email platforms (such as MailChip, Constant Contact, etc.), and website providers. For our Chapters outside of the US & Canada, please see the section, “My Chapter is outside the US/Canada. Can I still use these tools?” below for more details.

*We understand that Chapters maintain local bank accounts, and the decision to fully utilize the re:Members checking/savings accounts is ultimately up to each Executive Committee (see “Is it mandatory to use these tools?” below for a few exceptions). We truly believe that in most cases, the Chapter will see significant benefits by closing their local bank accounts and transitioning to fully use the Financial Management Platform. Please keep in mind that the Chapter’s re:Members accounts are completely 100% the property of the Chapter.

What prompted ASM to do this?

Two main objectives drove this partnership. The first, and most important, is to expand the tools/resources ASM offers to its Chapters, helping them be more successful while also providing a better volunteer experience. The second is to help ASM improve operational efficiencies by allowing the organization to streamline processes. Not only will this help ASM be a better steward of Society finances (by reducing administrative overhead) but also significantly reduce or eliminate challenges such as undelivered/uncashed checks, returned ACH/Wire payments, and fund disbursement information requests.

Is it mandatory to use these tools?

With a few exceptions, Chapters will not be forced to fully transition processes, etc. to these platforms. Chapters can keep local bank accounts and 3rd party websites, email tools, and payment processors if preferred (even though these will be services offered through this partnership).

  • Exception 1 – ASM Fund Disbursement: Once the platform is fully launched (April 1, 2026), ASM will disburse all Chapter funds (such as rebates, CHIP withdrawals, etc.) exclusively to the Chapter’s re:Members account within the Financial Management Platform (known as Billhighway). For more on the reasoning behind this change, please refer to the section above, “What prompted ASM to do this?” Chapters who decide to continue to maintain a 3rd party account outside the Financial Management Platform may transfer those funds to their local bank account at any time.
  • Exception 2 – Websites: If your Chapter currently uses ASM Connect for its main Chapter site, the public website portion will be phased out and no longer available as of July 15, 2026. ASM will not auto-enroll Chapters into the new re:Members site as there is a fee associated with using these sites. Chapters can opt-in to the new re:Members’ site, choose to use a 3rd party web provider outside of ASM/re:Members, or opt to not have a Chapter site. Please see “What important dates does my Chapter need to know?” as well as “Will there be a cost to Chapters?” below for more details. Our Tip & Key Info Sheet provides additional information on the sites themselves.

What important dates does my Chapter need to know?

February 25 (Wednesday):

February 26 (Thursday):

March 24 (Tuesday):

  • All re:Members’ tools launched and fully live! Please see “How do I access my account?” below for additional details.
  • The Websites and Communications Module are opt-in services. Chapters can opt-in starting on this date via the respective forms listed in the Training Dashboard under the “Additional Resources” section. For eligible Chapters, ASM’s grant application opens.

March 25 (Wednesday):

  • Financial Management Platform (known as Billhighway) training held. Recording is now available on the Training Dashboard.

April 1 (Wednesday):

  • Event Management Software and Communications Module (both powered by Memberplanet) training held. Recording is now available on the Training Dashboard.
  • ASM will disburse funds to the Chapter’s re:Members account. See the notes below for additional details.

July 15 (Wednesday):

  • ASM Connect public-facing Chapter websites will no longer be available. See the notes below for additional details.

Important Notes:

  • ASM Fund Disbursement: On April 1, ASM will transition to exclusively disbursing funds to the Chapter’s re:Members account (see “Is it mandatory to use these tools?” above for more details, including how you can sweep out your funds to your local bank account if desired).
  • Websites: If your Chapter uses ASM Connect as its primary website, those sites will continue to function through July 15, 2026. ASM Connect Chapter sites will no longer be available/accessible past this date (note though that the Chapter’s Communities will still exist, but not the pubic-facing website). Chapters can opt-in to the new re:Members’ site, choose to use a 3rd party web provider outside of ASM/re:Members, or opt to not have a Chapter site. Please note that ASM will not auto-enroll Chapters into the new re:Members site, as there is a cost associated with it.

Will there be a cost to Chapters?

An initial setup cost and a recurring annual fee is covered by ASM 100% and not passed onto the Chapter. Both items are required to grant Chapters access to these tools.

There are additional service fees based on the tools each Chapter decides to opt-in and use – these fees would be billed to the Chapter. The Websites and Communication Module have a set per month fee while the Financial Management Platform and Event Management Software have processing fees based on the type of incoming transactions conducted.*

You can see the various fees associated with these tools by clicking here.

If Chapters make the full transition over to the re:Members financial and events platform, all previous 3rd party tools and costs used for financial and event management can get eliminated and replaced with the re:Members tools offered.

*Please note that there are no fees levied on ASM-initiated funding (such as rebate payments) to the Chapter’s re:Members account, the transferring of funds from the Chapter’s 3rd party local bank account into their re:Members account, or the transferring of Chapter funds from their re:Members account to their outside 3rd party local bank account (unless imposed by the receiving institution).

ASM Grants:

To help support Chapters who may experience financial hardship to access these tools, ASM has created a grant program to help offset some of the expenses associated with the Website and Communications Module. To be eligible for the grant, Chapters must have $35,000 (USD) or less in total assets (as indicated in the most recent Financial Report). If approved, the funds will be paid directly to the Chapter’s re:Members accounts. You can see the full rules in the grant application.

Will training/support be offered?

Yes! re:Members has hosted live officer training sessions and provided an on-demand training dashboard that includes past recordings, FAQs, instructional documentation, and feature specific training. re:Members also offers support via call and email.

My Chapter is outside the US/Canada. Can I still use these tools?

The Communications Module and Websites will be fully available and functional for our Chapters located in Mexico, Finland, Italy, and India.

The Financial Management Platform and Event Management Software are not restricted based on location; however, you may find it necessary to still maintain a 3rd party bank account based on the local circumstances within your country. Once the tools are rolled out, we encourage you to explore these services to determine if they are a suitable replacement based on your needs. If outside the US/Canada, these two tools may compliment, rather than replace, your already existing local processes.

How do I access my account?

Who has access? By default, only the officers submitted within the Chapter’s Health Assessment to ASM will have access to the re:Members tools. If you are a Chapter officer and need access, please email [email protected] and copy your Chapter’s Chair on your request. ASM will work with re:Members to grant you access (typically processed within one/two business days).

Financial Management (Billhighway) Activation: When an officer is added, they will receive an email from [email protected] with the subject “Activation Code.” Please follow the prompts to access your instance of the Financial Platform.

If you don’t have access to this email, follow these instructions to activate your account. Note that the email associated with your account is the email on file with ASM Chapter Relations.

Event Management Software (powered by Memberplanet): Officer login can be activated here. The email associated with your Event Management Software login is the same email in which you received the Billhighway activation message (i.e. the email that is on file with ASM Chapter Relations).

Other tools: The Websites and Communications Module are opt-in services. If your Chapter decides to enroll, your Event Management Software login (powered by Memberplanet) will also work for these two additional services. Chapters can opt-in starting on March 24, 2026 via the respective forms listed on the ASM + re:Members Training Dashboard under the “Additional Resources” section.
