\n\tIt’s hard to believe that we are already well into the summer months of 2017! It’s been a very busy and exciting year for ASM and TSS. The ASM Renewal campaign continues to gain momentum and improve upon the overall value proposition for membership. Meanwhile, TSS continues to support and promote important activities that will stimulate the growth of the science and technology of thermal spray. Here is a quick update of what we have accomplished and what we have planned.<\/p>\n
\n\tWe held our flagship event in Dusseldorf last month. Indeed, the International Thermal Spray Conference (ITSC 2017) was a great success, with nearly 700 conference and expo attendees from 36 countries. The exhibit hall hosted all of the leading companies many of the leading companies within the thermal spray industry. In all, more than 60 exhibitors were present. These statistics prove the significance of ITSC as an important event and resource for the thermal spraying community.<\/p>\n
\n\tNow that ITSC 2017 has concluded, the TSS Programming Committee has begun preparations for ITSC 2018 which will be held in Orlando, Florida. We are very excited to be co-located with AeroMat at the Gaylord Palms Resort, May 7-10 2018. The technical program will focus on a range of symposia including R&D, thermal spray applications, and a special joint symposium with AeroMat entitled “Advanced Coatings for the Aerospace Industry”. We look forward to your support of this event by attending, submitting a paper to the technical program, or purchasing a booth or sponsorship.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe TSS Programming Committee has also been working hard preparing for the “Thermal Spray of Suspensions & Solutions Symposium (TS4)”, scheduled for September 13-14, 2017 at the GE Global Research Center in Niskayuna, NY. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to network with your peers and receive topical, in-depth educational knowledge in the emerging S&STS technologies field. I hope to see you all there!<\/p>\n
