Brewer Science Inc., Monterey, Calif., launches its Sensor System Solutions program, which provides full consulting services to support customers from design through integration, to achieve complete, high-performance electronic systems. Support includes designing a customized sensor so it responds to desired stimuli; integrating it with analog and digital electronic components for signal conditioning and processing; developing associated firmware and software; and finally, connecting the processor with communication devices for transmission to a network. This service provides customers with a faster, more robust path to creating customized sensor systems, regardless of their in-house design capabilities.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Leveraging Brewer Science\u2019s materials expertise allows for highly optimized integration of the company\u2019s printed InFlect family of flex, moisture, thermistor, gas, and water sensors into customer designs. This enables a plethora of new applications that take sensing where it\u2019s never been before, with a faster time to market.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

While sensors provide the foundation of the Internet of Things (IoT) and the industrial IoT (IIOT), they are just the first step in obtaining meaningful and usable data output. After the sensor captures raw analog data, the data must then be processed and converted into information that is used and transmitted by IoT nodes. Additionally, to fully support the needs of the IoT now and in the future, each node must be designed to perform a variety of functions. Designing these highly customized sensor system solutions requires a combination of analog and digital engineering expertise, as well as specialized knowledge of printed and flexible sensors, to achieve the desired form factors and sizes.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
