Nominations are for a vice-president, and a secretary for a one-year term, two board positions for a three-year term, and one Emerging Professional Board Member for a one-year term; beginning October 1, 2027. Any member of FAS in good standing is encouraged to nominate themselves or another member for one of these positions. <strong>Applications are due March 1.<\/strong><\/p><p>Candidates are asked to provide a three-page nom<span style=\"font-size: 14px\">ination<\/span> package to include the candidate&#8217;s:<\/p><ul style=\"margin-left: 40px\"><li>academic\/business biography<\/li><li>failure analysis background<\/li><li>FAS and ASM involvement<\/li><li>vision for the future of FAS<\/li><li>photograph and contact information<\/li><li>confirmation of employers&#8217; support<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p style=\"font-style: normal;line-height: 1.33333em\">Service on the FAS Board of Directors involves planning and driving the future strategy of your society.\u00a0 The Board of Directors meets one face-to-face a year and conducts three teleconferences.\u00a0\u00a0 Board members also provide liaison support to the several FAS Committees which may involve a few additional conference calls.<\/p><p style=\"font-style: normal;line-height: 1.33333em\">Candidates are encouraged to ensure that they have the support of their employer for this activity.<\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/app.keysurvey.com\/f\/41615812\/cb1c\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Candidate Nomination Link Request<\/a><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-81c1940 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"81c1940\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8f4b9ff elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"8f4b9ff\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3 style=\"color: #323232;font-style: normal\">FAS Student Board Members<\/h3><p>To be eligible, you must be a Material Advantage undergraduate or graduate student member during the academic year, with an interest in the field of failure analysis, metallurgy\/materials science.<\/p><p>To apply, submit an application package consisting of:<\/p><ol><li>A current resume<\/li><li>A two-page essay (typed and double-spaced) addressing your interest in participating in the program. Please address the following points:<\/li><\/ol><ul><li>What experiences led to your interest in this program?<\/li><li>What qualities, characteristics, and skills do you possess that will make you a strong candidate to serve as a student representative to the FAS Board?<\/li><li>What do you hope to learn\/gain from this program?<\/li><\/ul><p>3.
