Metallurgy of Welding and Joining, December 11-14, 2017
December 11, 2017 - December 14, 2017
Venue: ASM Headquarters, Materials Park | Location: Novelty, OH, 44073-0002
Instructor: Dr. Robert W. Messler, Jr., PhD, FASM | Classroom | Product code: 243042C17
Price: $2600.00 Member Price: $2400.00
Welding metallurgy is a complex subject because it requires knowledge of materials, welding processes, design, and inspection. Metallurgy of Welding and Joining provides an excellent review of welding processes, welding of materials ranging from carbon steel to specialized alloys, guidelines for designing weldments to facilitate welding, and testing and inspecting welds to meet performance requirements. To measure your retention of each lesson's materials and end-of-lesson test will be provided, in addition to an end of course examination.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
- Welding inspectors
- Sales or purchasing personnel
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:
- Intelligently select the appropriate welding process for a particular application
- Describe the basic metallurgy of the melted and heat-affected zone of a metal or alloy
- Identify the cause of and avoid weld defects
- Choose or adjust welding parameters and techniques to optimize weldment properties
