Bonnell Aluminum achieves IATF quality certification in automotive sector

Bonnell Aluminum, Newnan, Ga., announces that its aluminum extrusion manufacturing facility in Newnan has achieved certification under IATF 16949:2016, a technical specification for quality management systems in the automotive sector, set forth by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF).

Replacing the previous ISO/TS 16949 technical specification, the IATF 16949:2016 is the new gold standard for quality management, combining various standards from across the United States and Europe. It outlines rigorous requirements to the supplier’s Quality Management System (QMS), including continuous improvement, defect identification and prevention, reduction of variation and waste.

A subsidiary of Tredegar Corporation, Bonnell and its operating divisions, AACOA and Futura Industries, manufacture custom-fabricated and finished aluminum extrusions serving the building and construction, automotive and transportation, consumer durables, machinery and equipment, electrical and distribution markets. Manufacturing facilities are located in: Newnan, Ga., Carthage, Tenn., Niles, Mich., Elkhart, Ind., and Clearfield, Utah.
