Constellium\u2019s new powders are designed and tailored based on customer needs for a wide range of applications, including aerospace, motorsports, and defense industries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom:.0001pt\"><span style=\"line-height:normal\">The laser powder bed process involves rapid solidification, which can be leveraged to design entirely new aluminum alloys, bringing properties unachievable with conventional alloys. Experts at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constellium.com\/c-tec-voreppe-france-aluminium-research-and-development-center-constellium\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">C-TEC<\/a> (Constellium\u2019s R&amp;D center) have developed Aheadd, a new generation of high-performance aluminum powders for additive manufacturing. These new products are perfectly aligned with the requirements of powder bed fusion, allowing higher printing productivity and simplified post-processing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom:.0001pt\"><span style=\"line-height:normal\">Constellium is part of the Aeroprint initiative, an ambitious collaborative R&amp;D project supported by Dassault Aviation and the Auvergne-Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes region. The project aims to develop, qualify, and implement in 2020 an industrial pilot line for the additive manufacturing of complex metal parts for aerospace.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom:.0001pt\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom:.0001pt\">Aheadd solutions bring unmatched thermal stability, allowing replacement of titanium in selected applications to reduce weight and cost.
