In particular, Bodycote\u2019s Kolsterising process delivers that. <\/span><span><span><span>Kolsterising<\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span> is a proprietary Bodycote diffusion process<span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span> in which carbon is diffused into the surface at a temperature under 500\u00b0C. The result is high hardness with high resistance to abrasion and galling.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span>Certain stainless steel applications present unique technical challenges to metallurgists and engineers, as many surface treatments negatively affect stainless steel\u2019s inherent corrosion resistance. However, Bodycote\u2019s S3P processes are said to impart increased mechanical and wear properties without adversely affecting corrosion resistance. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span>The new facility will be located in Mooresville, North Carolina, to support the manufacturing supply chains in the southeast region, and will be operational in March.
