Kymera International, a specialty materials company headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, has entered into a definitive agreement with Ametek Inc., Berwyn, Pennsylvania, to acquire its Reading Alloys business. Kymera is a middle-market private equity firm that has been owned by affiliates of Palladium Equity Partners LLC since 2018. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2020. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Reading Alloys was founded in 1953 and acquired by Ametek in 2008. Reading designs, develops, and produces master alloys, thermal barrier coatings, and titanium powders. The business is a preferred supplier for producers of high-quality titanium and superalloy mill products for aerospace and aircraft applications. Reading also provides highly engineered materials for mission-critical applications in the aerospace, defense, medical, and industrial markets. It is known for its expertise in aluminothermic smelting, induction melting, vacuum sintering, and metal powder production. <\/span><\/p>\n
