\n\tThis acquisition enables Oerlikon Metco to produce high-purity powder materials that require melting or alloying temperatures above 5800\u00b0F. The company also acquired the knowhow and IP rights for the production of fully alloyed carbides that can be tailored in density to pair with a metal matrix, making a composite with excellent impact wear properties in combination with high abrasion resistance.<\/p>\n
