Four members of the ASM Heat Treating Society will be recognized this year at ASM’s annual Awards Dinner, Tuesday, October 29, Le Westin Hotel, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
<\/td>\nMr. William J. Bernard, Jr<\/b>., FASM,<\/b> President and CEO, Surface Combustion, Inc., will receive ASM Distinguished Life Membership<\/b> “in recognition for unwavering dedication to the advancement of the metallurgical\/heat treating industry and exemplary leadership, vision, and professional service supporting industry organizations and professional societies.” Distinguished Life Membership was established in 1954 and is conferred on leaders who have devoted their time, knowledge, and abilities to the advancement of the materials industries.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

In 1969, ASM established the honor of Fellow of the Society<\/b> to provide recognition to members for their distinguished contributions to materials science and engineering and to develop a broad based forum of technical and professional leaders to serve as advisors to the Society. \u00a0We are pleased to announce the following HTS members will be among the 2013 Inductees.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

<\/td>\nMr. Robert Hill, Jr.<\/b>, President, Solar Atmospheres of Western PA, is being recognized “for expanding the applications and technical knowledge of vacuum heat treating titanium for the future of lightweight and energy efficient commercial and military airframes.”<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
<\/td>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
<\/td>\nDr. Stephen J. Mashl,<\/b> Research Professor, Michigan Technological University, is being recognized “for industrial and academic contributions and leadership in the fields of heat treatment, power metallurgy and hot isostatic pressing technologies.”<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

<\/td>\nDr. Satyam S. Sahay<\/b>, Senior General Manager, John Deere Asia Technology, is being recognized “for successful implementation of model-based optimization in heat treating industries, outstanding research in the area of process modeling and non-isothermal phase \u00a0transformations and for significant contributions towards professional societies, journal boards, and academic institutions.”<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
