{"id":8642,"date":"2017-01-26T21:44:53","date_gmt":"2017-01-26T21:44:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.asminternational.org\/hts-new\/results\/-\/journal_content\/56\/10192\/27121462\/NEWS\/"},"modified":"2023-02-07T04:49:06","modified_gmt":"2023-02-07T04:49:06","slug":"forgings-supplier-buys-afc-holcroft-heat-treatment-furnace-line","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.asminternational.org\/hts\/forgings-supplier-buys-afc-holcroft-heat-treatment-furnace-line\/","title":{"rendered":"Forgings supplier buys AFC Holcroft heat treatment furnace line"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\tAFC-Holcroft, Wixom, Mich., reports that a European-based multi-national supplier of forgings for the automotive industry has brought their heat treatment process in-house by investing in an AFC-Holcroft automated non-atmosphere batch heat treatment line to be delivered to an American facility located in the Midwest.&nbsp;<span style=\"font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 0.9375em; font-weight: 400;\">The equipment will be used to process raw forgings that will undergo normalizing, tempering, stress relieving and a quench and temper process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\n\tTo secure the order, AFC-Holcroft needed to prove to the customer the return on investment.&nbsp; This was accomplished through meetings in the United States and abroad, calculations of costs, visits to customer sites, analysis of production schedules, testing of parts, etc.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&#8220;Our customer was very thorough in its consideration of new heat treatment equipment,&#8221; says Ron Graham, Sales Engineer for AFC-Holcroft.&nbsp; &#8220;They were then outsourcing their heat treatment and needed to ensure that the new equipment met all of the requirements for their various processes.&nbsp; AFC-Holcroft&#8217;s Sales, Applications, and Engineering groups all engaged in the process to validate that we were providing the optimal solution to meet their needs.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe equipment consists of five direct-fired, non-atmosphere batch heat treating furnaces, with automation provided by a SCADA system for a fully automated process.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<a href=\"http:\/\/www.afc-holcroft.com\/\">www.afc-holcroft.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AFC-Holcroft, Wixom, Mich., reports that a European-based multi-national supplier of forgings for the automotive industry has brought their heat treatment process in-house by investing in an AFC-Holcroft automated non-atmosphere batch heat treatment line to be delivered to an American facility located in the Midwest.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":63082,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[446,439,440,441,1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-8642","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-automobiles-and-ground-transportation","category-general","category-news","category-news-articles","category-uncategorized"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.9 -
