{"id":9151,"date":"2015-01-25T18:21:56","date_gmt":"2015-01-25T18:21:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.asminternational.org\/hts-new\/results\/-\/journal_content\/56\/10192\/23463834\/NEWS\/"},"modified":"2023-02-07T04:49:47","modified_gmt":"2023-02-07T04:49:47","slug":"solar-atmospheres-installs-1500-sq-ft-climate-controlled-room","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.asminternational.org\/hts\/solar-atmospheres-installs-1500-sq-ft-climate-controlled-room\/","title":{"rendered":"Solar Atmospheres installs 1500-sq.-ft. climate-controlled room"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\tSolar Atmospheres, Souderton, Pa., has installed a new 1500 ft<span style=\"font-size:11px;\"><sup>2<\/sup><\/span> room in its shop that incorporates temperature and humidity controls, as well as a slight positive pressure environment. &nbsp;Adjacent to the room is a new state-of-the-art, all-metal hot-zone vacuum furnace, in which only the door protrudes through the wall. The furnace has the ability to isolate the quench system during the heat cycle, and features an all stainless-steel chamber and an oversize pumping system.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe furnace is capable of maintaining a vacuum level of 5&#215;10<sup>&#8211;<span style=\"font-size:11px;\">6<\/span><\/sup> torr or lower, and has successfully processed sensitive materials unshielded without any surface contamination.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\n\tEarly in 2015, an existing furnace will be modified and updated with state-of-the-art controls and added to this new area as well.
