The ISTFA 2026 Video Contest<\/strong> invites members of the failure analysis community to showcase their creativity, technical expertise, and storytelling skills through short-form video. Participants are encouraged to submit a 3-minute (or less)<\/strong> video highlighting an exciting result, unique artifact, innovative technique, or compelling case study\u2014anything related to failure analysis<\/strong> is welcome.<\/p> This contest is a fun, engaging way to share your work, highlight your technical skills, and gain recognition from peers across the global failure analysis community. Submissions will be reviewed by the community and recognized in conjunction with ISTFA 2026.<\/p> Final submission requirements will be confirmed closer to the event. In general, videos are expected to meet the following criteria:<\/p> Maximum length: 3 minutes or less<\/strong><\/p><\/li> Accepted formats: WMV, QT, MPEG, or AVI<\/p><\/li> Maximum file size: 100MB<\/p><\/li> Audio and subtitles are permitted<\/p><\/li> A short written description must accompany each submission<\/p><\/li> Complete contact information is required with each entry<\/p><\/li><\/ul> Additional technical upload instructions will be posted once the submission portal opens.<\/p> The Video Contest is open to:<\/p> Failure Analysts<\/strong> working in any sector of the industry<\/p><\/li> Students<\/strong> studying disciplines related to failure analysis (e.g., physics, electrical engineering, chemistry, materials science, reliability engineering, and related fields)<\/p><\/li> Exhibitors and industry professionals<\/strong><\/p><\/li><\/ul> All submitted videos must be original work<\/strong> and may include only properly authorized content, including music, images, footage, and other intellectual property. Entrants are responsible for securing all required permissions prior to submission.<\/p> By submitting an entry, participants grant EDFAS and ASM International the right to exhibit, reproduce, and distribute submitted videos for conference and promotional use. Entries will not be returned. Formal copyright and permission acceptance will be required during the submission process.<\/p> Videos will be evaluated based on:<\/p> Creativity and originality<\/p><\/li> Technical message and clarity<\/p><\/li> Production quality<\/p><\/li> Overall presentation<\/p><\/li><\/ul> Top-rated entries will be featured during ISTFA 2026, with finalists displayed on-site for attendees to view.
