Donating to the ASM Lab

When you donate equipment to the Laboratory at ASM World Headquarters in Materials Park, Ohio, not only are you contributing to nonprofit materials science education - you are also putting your products directly in front of end users. Donating equipment is a tax deductible way to reach students who will learn how to use your products and take that knowledge back to their company. Additional advertising opportunities are also tied to your donation, which are listed in the tiered structure below. Consider donating equipment to ASM as an investment both in the future of materials science education and in your company.

ASM Lab Contribution Tier Details

Tier levels indicate value of equipment and consumables contributed or placed on consignment for the use and benefit of ASM International student/members.

  1. ASM News and e-newsletter Announcement. Acknowledgment of the contribution in ASM News and e-newsletters published during the calendar quarter that equipment or material is delivered.

  2. Student information. Student name, title and company mailing address shall be provided quarterly for classes which utilize the contribution. Students will be able to opt out per ASM Privacy Policy.

  3. Advertisement in AM&P magazine.  Advertisement space will be provided in AM&P magazine. This will be provided free of cost with the size and frequency as defined in the table and based upon the applicable Tier.

  4. Product information placement in relevant courses. Electronic versions of product and supplemental information identified by the contributor will be included as supplemental course material as part of the course content distributed to each student though ASM's learning management system.

  5. Website and email  reminder of  contributions. Thank you emails sent to all attendees of courses will include recognition that the contribution enhanced their learning experience and provide link(s) to an ASM page which provides details about the contribution as well as contributor contact and links to further information.

  6. 1/2 price registration for ASM Education courses. Access to ASM courses will be provided at 1/2 of the nonmember registration fee for employees of the contributor organization. The number of registrations provided are defined in the table and are dependent upon the applicable Tier.

  7. Sponsored email blast.  An email will be broadcast on behalf of the contributor to a targeted ASM customers as defined in the table for the applicable Tier. Email content and message will be provided by the contributor and ASM will work to develop a distribution list of 5000 members based on identified demographics and interests.

  8. Custom Brand or Product Survey.  A custom brand or product survey including up to 5 questions will be distributed to up to 5000 ASM customers on behalf of the contributor. Specific questions and recipient demographics will be defined by collaboration with the contributing organization and ASM Marketing resources.  The number of the surveys provided are defined in the table and dependent upon the applicable Tier. 

  9. ASM Signet Survey. Twice per year ASM launches a Signet Survey to members and customers. One product question will be included as defined by collaboration with the contributing organization and ASM Marketing resources.
