The HTS Finance Committee is to supervise the financial affairs of the Society under the direction and with the approval of the HTS Board. It reviews the financial plan of the Society and recommends it to the Board for action.
The mission of the HTS Membership Subcommittee is to understand the current, past, and potential HTS member needs in order to refocus efforts to provide improved member value.

The HTS Research & Development Committee, working with the heat treating community, the Center for Heat Treating Excellence, and other research institutions, identifies, monitors, and provides updates on worldwide research and technology development relevant to the industry. The committee will share this information via the HTS website, regional conferences, and recurring sessions in the HTS Conference and Expo.

The purpose of the Committee is to develop programming and technical information to expose the Society's membership to practical and leading-edge global technology. The committee fosters the exchange, education, understanding and exposure of technology within the heat treating industry.

The purpose of the Annual Meeting/Events Committee is to bring together the generators and users of information to meet the needs of IMS members by providing vision, leadership and resources for technical programming at IMS, primarily the IMS Annual Meeting. An important facet of this mission is coordination of technical content between the ASM Affiliate Societies, the Microscopy & Microanalysis Conference, ASM Chapters, ASM Education Committee, Exposition, and Emerging Professionals. The Annual Meeting/Events Committee supports the IMS Strategic Plan and is accountable and responsible for those strategic actions which fall within the purview of the committee. It is the responsibility of the committee to contribute new program and service ideas that support the ASM Strategic Plan.

This committee recommends the awards policy of the Society to the Board, and is responsible for the awards activity of the Society. It recommends suitably chosen and properly qualified nominees for the various awards and honors of the Society to the Board. The Awards Committee shall support the IMS Strategic Plan and be accountable and responsible for those strategic actions which fall within the purview of the committee.

The International Metallographic Society is an independent, nonprofit technical organization whose aim is to stimulate interest and raise professional standards in the characterization of materials, their structures and properties. Of special interest to our members are techniques for microstructural examination, analysis and evaluation. The IMS Board supports the ASM Strategic Plan and is accountable and responsible for those strategic actions which fall within the purview of the committee. It is also responsible for contributing new program and service ideas that support the Strategic Plan.
The IMS Education Subcommittee, in conjunction with the ASM Education Committee, is to research, develop and support education services that best respond to the needs of the materials characterization community.
