Nitrex turnkey systems enable nitriding/nitrocarburizing for Polish aerospace company

Nitrex Metal, St. Laurent, Quebec, reports that Polish aircraft engine and gear transmission manufacturer WSK “PZL- Kalisz” has started production on its new NXK-609 nitriding system from Nitrex Metal. The self-contained turnkey system, which has a diameter of 24 in. and a height of 36 in., nitrides gears and housings supplied to many world-leading aerospace firms. Nitriding with Nitreg technology meets the company’s requirement for precise control of the white layer thickness on Nitralloy parts, including zero white layer.

The NXK system design will also enable WSK “PZL- Kalisz” to add Nitreg®-C ferritic nitrocarburizing at a later date.

The multipurpose NXK series of nitriding/nitrocarburizing systems is an economical and dependable choice for small-scale processing as well as for general laboratory/testing purposes. It has minimal space requirements and low operating costs for processing low volume quantities.

It is shipped preconfigured & factory-tested, fully calibrated, and pre-tested for metallurgical results.

Process capabilities include Nitreg  potential-controlled gas nitriding, Nitreg-C potential-controlled gas nitrocarburizing, Nitreg-S potential-controlled gas nitriding with “in-process” activation for stainless steels, and Nano-STM potential-controlled gas nitriding for stainless steels (with better corrosion resistance), ONC in-process post-nitriding or post-nitrocarburizing oxidation, and Phase-Controlled gas nitriding and nitrocarburizing.
