ASM International makes major update to alloy center database

ASM International, Materials Park, Ohio, announces major updates to the ASM Alloy Center Database, which provides fully searchable, online access to authoritative materials data. Content includes worldwide equivalencies for alloys, mechanical, physical and chemical property data, and corrosion characteristics in various environments. Access all new alloy data sheets, stress-strain curves, creep curves, time-temperature curves and other engineering graphs for more than 100,000 alloy designations in the U.S. and globally.

The latest release includes:

  • More than 1,000 newly added aluminum standards records from ASTM and ASME
  • More than 500 newly added commercial grades records, based on recently published Alloy Digest datasheets and manufacturers websites, plus more than 200 updates to records originally published in Woldman’s Engineering Alloys, 9th edition
  • Corrosion performance data in high temperature oxidizing environments
  • Expanded paint coatings information from Rowan Technology Group
  • More than 100 new Alloy Digest datasheets
  • Enhanced search & navigation, to help users more easily find and compare alloys
  • Zoom and mouse-over coordinates display in functional data charts

 

The new content is part of ASM’s ongoing mission to deliver products and services that are at the forefront of materials innovation. “This major update to the Alloy Center Database will provide useful, updated information to database subscribers, and upgrade the user experience through enhanced search and navigation tools, ” says Scott Henry, Director, Content & Knowledge-Based Solutions at ASM International. “We continuously strive to keep our databases up-to-date, to deliver the best content possible to those who use them regularly.”
