Isothermal Transformation Diagram for Tool Steels
The graph shows the isothermal transformation diagram for the steel AISI 1075/DIN EN C75. Cooling curves show three process cycles for molten metal quenching in the time-temperature-transformation plots:
- Ms: martempering to produce circular or band saws, flapper valves, or springs
- Bai: austempering to produce cutting dies, leather and paper cutting tools, and on parts for cars
- P: patenting to produce a ready-to-roll strip for seat belt springs or cable springs
