Olympus, Japan, introduces the DP74 color fluorescence microscope camera, which combines advanced image processing technology, a low-noise design, and easy-to-use software to deliver smooth, true-to-life images in demanding industrial applications.
The camera combines a wide field of view with a diagonal length of 21 mm with full HD image resolution at 60 frames per second. The global shutter of the DP74’s CMOS exposes the whole pixel at same time. Therefore, even in a moving stage, the image is not distorted. The DP74 camera is optimized for fluorescence imaging with a powerful noise reduction function and a high level of gain sensitivity. The position navigator enables the operator to always know the location in the sample, even without a motorized stage.
For inspection applications, the DP74 camera renders clear images of microstructures, such as fine patterns on wafers or the surfaces of new materials. Multiple image alignment enables acquiring panoramic images or extended focus imaging over multiple Z-levels.
Sample appearance can vary depending on quality of material, surface conditions, or illumination methods. One of a variety of observation methods made possible by the advanced digital technology of DP74, the Live HDR (High Dynamic Range) function, combines several images taken at different exposures to accurately correct brightness differences on the sample surface, delivering a more consistently accurate sample rendition. Live HDR provides high-fidelity images that show not only textures, but also flaws and defects that were previously undetectable. Glare can also be reduced for more comfortable observation.
Optimized for fluorescence color imaging, the DP74 microscope camera provides high frame rate, high definition of up to 1200p, and fine detail at low magnification. When imaging under high magnification, the position navigator enables users to see where they are on the overall sample slide.
The DP74 is the successor to the DP73, and displays high-speed live images at 60fps, four times faster than the DP73. Fixed specimens can be scanned across the field of view as fast as the eye can see. The camera seamlessly integrates with and can be controlled by the soon to be released Olympus Stream 2.2 imaging software.
The DP74 camera offers one of the widest fields of view currently available, with a wide 16:10 aspect ratio, so users can find areas of interest more quickly. For users who need to create larger macro images, the wide field of view helps make tiling faster. Combined with the fast frame rate and a shading correction feature, the DP74 microscope camera produces beautiful macro images with fewer seams.
