Seco-Warwick supplies three vacuum furnaces to Corpus Christi Army Depot in Texas

Seco-Warwick, Meadville, Pa., reports that Corpus Christi Army Depot in Texas has purchased three of its vacuum furnaces for vacuum heat treatment of aircraft components. The company will supply two,  2-Bar; and one, 12-Bar high-pressure cooling, high-vacuum furnaces. They are equipped with moly/stainless steel hot zones, a high-vacuum pumping system, and electrical controls. Seco-Warwick also provides installation, start-up, and commissioning services.

High-vacuum furnaces are used for solution heat treating, annealing, stress relieving, quench hardening, degassing, tempering, homogenizing, aging, and brazing.  They can be equipped with FineCarb vacuum carburizing and the PreNit high speed carburizing option.  Typical materials processed in high vacuum include carbon steel and low alloy steels, iron-base corrosion-resistant steel, nickel- and cobalt-base alloys, titanium, and titanium alloys.
