The investment will help drive further development and commercialization of pipeline products, including the full market release of the Eclipse Soft Tissue Anchor, MedShape’s newest shape memory polymer fixation device for soft tissue repair.
RTI acquires titanium and stainless steel extrusion business of Osborn Metals
RTI International Metals Inc., Pittsburgh, has acquired the Osborn Steel Extrusions business unit of Osborn Metals Ltd., UK, for approximately $15 million in cash. Osborn Steel Extrusions specializes in the manufacture of less than 6-in. diameter extruded titanium and stainless steel hollows and near-net shape profile parts. It principally supplies commercial aerospace, energy, power generation, and defense customers.
Wisconsin Oven opens 30,000 square foot facility in Waukesha
Wisconsin Oven Corp., East Troy, Wis., has opened another plant in Waukesh, Wis. The 30,000-square-foot existing facility will increase the capacity of the industrial oven manufacturer’s existing four plants in East Troy. The expansion will help Wisconsin Oven continue to design and manufacture a broad line of heating equipment . The company’s standard or custom industrial ovens are used for a multitude of applications, such as heat treating.
Aichelin to supply quench furnace to auto plant in India
Aichelin Group, Modling, Austria, announces that a new order for a 1500-kg electrically heated quench furnace installation has been received from Renault Nissan Automotive Ltd., for its automotive assembly plant in Chennai, India. The order reportedly consists of four sealed quench furnaces and accessories, including a tempering and preheating furnace, a washer, and other related equipment, to be supplied in phases until April 2015.
