Dislocations in 3D

Scientists at the University of California Los Angeles have created stunningly detailed 3D reconstructions of platinum nanoparticles at an atomic scale. The resulting images are used to study typical dislocations in the material. This Nature Video is based on the paper “Three-dimensional imaging of dislocations in a nanoparticle at atomic resolution,” by Chien-Chun Chen et al. in Nature.
