Lockheed Martin: Compact Fusion Research & Development
Compact Fusion
Building on more than 60 years of fusion research, engineers at the Lockheed Martin Skunk Works are developing a compact nuclear fusion reactor concept. It is based on using a high fraction of magnetic field pressure, which enables making devices only a tenth the size of previous concepts such as the ITER. This video describes the ideas behind a fusion power plant that can be made small enough to fit on the back of a truck.
