Qualifications for Board of Trustees and Vice President

  • Materials persons with broad experience in ASM, business and management
  • Experience in ASM Affiliate Society, committee, council and/or ASM chapter work
  • Managerial experience (budgets, policy making) most desirable
  • An ASM Individual Professional Member
  • Understands the duties and responsibilities required and is willing to serve if elected
  • Understands ASM’s strategy and objectives
  • Has knowledge of the field of materials and information technology
  • Vice Presidential nominees must have previously served on the ASM Board of Trustees or served as the President of a Board of an ASM Affiliate Society.
 

 

About Vice President and Trustee Nominations

  • ASM Individual Professional Members, chapters, committees, councils and all ASM Affiliate Society boards are eligible to submit trustee and vice presidential nominations
  • Nominations for ASM trustee are eligible for three years. Eligibility and confirmation of consideration is confirmed annually within the three-year timeframe.
  • Vice Presidential nominees must have previously served on the ASM Board of Trustees or served as the President of a Board of an ASM Affiliate Society..
  • Submit nominations on the official ASM Board of Trustee/Vice President Nomination Form.
  • Nominator Name is required.
  • Provide 1 letter of reference from the nominating body and up to 4 letters of support.
 

 

Responsibilities and Time Commitments of ASM Vice President and Trustees Annually

  • Click here for the Nomination Form link.
    • This link will enable the nominator to input information and attach documents.
    • The nominator can then forward the link to the nominee allowing them to upload their Vision Statement and provide any additional information items.
    • Once all documents are uploaded and Nomination form is completed, the Nominator will click on the SUBMIT button.
    • The nomination can be reviewed while it is being filled out as well as converted to a .pdf document upon completion.
