September 20, 2018 | UCF Research I Building 101/101A (on the first floor)
Our guest speaker is Alan Moore, P.E., ACTAR from A.B.Moore Forensic Engineering, Inc. who will be presenting on how accident reconstruction engineers rely on crash test results to ascertain how a particular crash occurred. In some cases, it is necessary to conduct a crash test specific to one accident scenario. The resulting crush damage, accelerations, and occupant kinematics can then be studied in detail. Come see how, and why, this is done. Of course, there will be plenty of videos of unusual crash tests being performed. Examples of testing, and the applicability to typical forensic cases, will be demonstrated.

3DMT produces components for Aerospace, Defense and Medical applications utilizing power laser bed technology from EOS, Concept Laser and Velo3D. We will review the general process flow, current state of the art technology and also have Velo3D present new technology that is eliminating the need for support structures and expanding potential applications.
ASM President, Dr. David Furrer from Pratt & Whitney Presents on Materials Modeling, Application, and Design.
October 24, 2018 | 6PM at UCF The Research I building 101/101A 4353 Scorpius Street Orlando, FL 32816
Current material characteristics are based off of multiple static definitions. Materials definitions are critical elements of ALL engineering functions, especially design, structural analysis and quality. Dr. Furrer will be presenting on the new advancements in computational materials engineering and modeling tools and their optimization of materials, material development, application, and cost effectiveness.
