Ernie W. Christin Award
The ASM Columbus Chapter was pleased to present the Ernie W. Christin Award which is given annually to "the student who best demonstrates how industrial experience has influenced his or her education development." This year's award was given to Ms. Lauren Neufarth. Lauren transferred into the Ohio State University's Materials Science and Engineering curriculum in autumn 2007 after receiving an Associate of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Cincinnati State Technical and Community College. She worked eight rotations with General Electric Aviation and was offered a position in their Edison Engineering Development Program which she began in April 2011. Lauren graduated from the Ohio State University's Materials Science and Engineering curriculum on March 20, 2011 receiving her Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering with a specialization in Metallurgy.
