Presentation Title: The Art of Solving Coatings Challenges through Microchemical Analysis
Brief Bio for Gary Kagel
Mr. Kagel is a Senior Chemist with Lucideon M+P (read M and P). His primary role is that of electron microprobe analyst. He joined Lucideon in 2006 when it was known as The M&P Lab.
He has been an analytical chemist for over 25 years and considers himself fortunate to have been able to apply his Analytical Chemistry and Project Management skills in a wide variety of regulated industries. These include: Materials Science for aerospace applications, DNA test kit development, Environmental Analysis plus Consulting, and Pharmaceutical Purification Research and Development. He is a life-long member of the American Chemical Society and a member of ASM International since 2007 where he serves on the executive committee of his local chapter.
Mr. Kagel answers a wide variety of critical questions using electron microprobe analysis. Among these are questions involving the characterization of environmental barrier coatings, including thermal spray coatings, for numerous clients. Lucideon supports this work with a widely known reputation for excellence in metallographic sample preparation and its commitment to maintaining electron microprobe analysis capability over the past 40+ years.
