TOPIC:
Carbon Supercomposite™ can be easily tailored for pressure vessel, marine, wind energy, aerospace and automotive applications. The three-dimensional fiber reinforcement in Boston Materials’ Carbon Supercomposite™ inherently makes a more isotropic and delamination resistance prepreg. This allows for Carbon Supercomposite™ to be used in applications previously unsuitable for anisotropic composite materials. Carbon Supercomposite™ is also compatible with automated tape laying (ATL) layup methods and can be seamlessly integrated into existing manufacturing lines.

Boston Materials was spun-out of Northeastern University in 2016 by Anvesh Gurijala, Michael Segal, and Dr. Randall Erb. Since then, Boston Materials has scaled the production of Carbon Supercomposites from small square-inch samples to a continuous roll-to-roll process. Moving forward, Boston Materials will be launching an industrial-scale pilot facility and deliver market-ready Carbon Supercomposites to key customers by the summer  of 2019.

In this presentation, the materials, process and application of Boston Materials Carbon Supercomposite™ will be overviewed.
