Description

Direct-Write & Printed Electronics
Presented by Jeff Duce

Direct-write and printed electronics is a new technology field which holds potential to greatly improve aerospace systems. The technology could lead to dramatic weight reductions and new capabilities for Boeing's products. But developing these technologies to meet aerospace requirements is challenging and costly. We will discuss some of the technical requirements and challenges which must be met in order to transition technology to a production product.

Speaker Bio:

Jeff Duce graduated in 2006 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Utah State University and earned a MS in Engineering Technology from Central Washington University in 2015. Jeff has been working for Boeing for 9 years in the Boeing Research and Technology (BR&T) organization. He has been focusing on the development of direct-write and printed electronics technologies for use on Boeing platforms. Jeff was the lead BR&T engineer on a team which commercialized the used of direct-write technology for 747-8. This team was awarded the 2010 Engineering Excellence Team of the Year award.
