Thermo Scientific develops automated, robust, compact UV-Vis spectrophotometers

Thermo Scientific, Madison, Wis., introduces the Genesys family of automated, robust UV-Visible spectrophotometers, which are accessible, network-ready, and designed to meet expectations for advanced technology in a compact package. In addition, all Genesys spectrophotometers are offered with a flexible range of options.
--Genesys 50 features a simplified user interface and a high-resolution, color touchscreen. The rugged exterior, built for repetitive and heavy use environments, is designed with sloping surfaces to shed spills. It has a single-cell configuration for low sample throughput needs, with a removable, washable sampling compartment for easy clean-up.
--Genesys 150 includes the same features as the Genesys 50, and also provides automation for high-throughput options and room-light resistance, allowing lid-open operation designed for improved speed and convenience over previous generation instruments.
--Genesys 180 includes all the capabilities of the Genesys 150, and also includes an 8-cell changer for higher throughput environments, and double-beam capability for advanced experiments with a changing reference.
--BioMate 160 includes all the benefits of the Genesys150, and adds pre-programmed methods to help life science researchers obtain their answers quickly.
A new line of accessories is designed to simplify sampling and accommodate high throughput and temperature control needs. The line includes automated cell changers, a Peltier thermostatted cell holder, a disposable microcell holder, a sipper, and fiber optic probes. (Accessory options vary by model.)
