Oerlikon Balzers Coating AG, Liechtenstein, announces that Bosch Automotive Technology has selected the company as a Preferred Supplier. For over 20 years, Oerlikon Balzers has supported the Bosch Group with innovative surface treatment solutions for the optimization of engine components such as injection systems and piston pins. Special hard-material and anti-friction coatings have enabled reductions in fuel consumption and emissions in internal combustion engines of up to 15%.
“We are proud that our competence as a solution provider and our commitment have been acknowledged by such an important customer as Bosch, allowing us to further strengthen our cooperation for the future,” said Bernd Fischer, Head of Oerlikon Balzers.
The award pays tribute to the relationship of trust and to the mutual successes of the past years. “Deserving of special mention are the consistently high level of quality Oerlikon Balzers delivers, the professional project management and the close cooperation with our R&D department to achieve new solutions time and again,” said Tina Mayer, the responsible purchaser at Bosch. At the same time, the award signals a clear intention of intensifying cooperation in the future.
Bosch’s Preferred Supplier Award is characterized by strict criteria, such as quality certification according to ISO/TS 16949 or ISO 9001 or the environmental certification according to ISO 14001. This status is granted to only very few suppliers. “Our strategy of continuing the strong growth in the area of precision components has been given additional impetus by the award from Bosch,” stated a pleased Bernd Fischer.
