Time flies so fast, it is hard to believe that 2015 is almost over! This year was very exciting and fruitful for your Society and its members, especially when we look at the events organized during the year.
ITSC held in Long Beach last May was a great success, with close to 300 presentations, a strong exhibit, and convivial social events in the warm California weather. The co-location with IMS and Aeromat, with a special symposium on coatings for aerospace applications, made it possible to create a strong synergy between these three events.
A few days ago in Montreal, we had another stimulating event, although in quite different weather conditions! (It was close to freezing, but no snow.) Indeed, 90 coating specialists from industry, academia, and research centers gathered for Thermal Spray of Suspensions & Solutions Symposium (TS4). They spent two days discussing and evaluating the latest developments in this innovative thermal spray technology. Speakers from America, Europe, and Asia presented the most recent advances, focusing on emerging industrial applications and key R&D challenges.
These two events are good indicators of the dynamism and growth of thermal spray science and technology.
