ASM International, Materials Park, Ohio, announces that registration is now open for the 23rd iteration of the IFHTSE Congress, a global event focused on thermal processing, heat treating, and surface engineering. The ASM Heat Treating Society (HTS) and the International Federation of Heat Treatment and Surface Engineering (IFHTSE) have partnered to present the conference and exhibit this April in Savannah, Georgia, a scenic location expected to draw record attendance of engineers, exhibitors, and academics. The technical program is live for this show, and registration is open to the public.
Registration includes a three-day technical program, a welcome reception with exhibitors, a Wednesday evening dinner, dedicated networking times with exhibitors, and access to the online conference proceedings. The technical program will bring together international experts from around the globe to present innovations and research in thermal processing and surface engineering. More than 125 technical sessions will be offered over the course of three days, including a special symposium on residual stress.
Keynote speakers include Prof. H.K.D., H. Bhadeshia, University of Cambridge, “Very Short and Very Long Heat-Treatments in the Processing of Steel.” Also speaking will be Mr. Toby Steiner, “Alloying Element Nitride Development in Ferritic Fe-based Materials upon Nitriding.” Finally, Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Rolf Zenker will speak on “Surface Treatment by Electron Beam in Combination with Other Heat Treatment Technologies.”
Attendees will have many opportunities to learn about surface engineering developments and network with industry peers. According to conference organizer Dr. Scott Mackenzie, Metallurgy Research Scientist at Houghton International, “Working closely with IFHTSE, we are poised to have a truly exemplary show. This congress will be a great opportunity for anyone who is looking to increase their knowledge about these topics. We have amassed a fantastic program from some of the brightest minds in the field, and the exhibit will feature top companies.”
