Praxair opens air separation plant at Samsung Electronics in South Korea

Praxair Inc., Danbury, Conn., has begun operations at its fourth air separation plant, a 1400-ton-per-day unit, and has upgraded the nitrogen pipeline system serving the Samsung site in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea.

The new plant will supply nitrogen to Samsung, one of the largest electronics companies globally. Praxair also supplies Samsung with nitrogen, oxygen, argon, helium and other gases, from an expanded complex outside of Seoul. Additionally, Praxair supplies liquid oxygen, nitrogen, and argon to a variety of local facilities in such industries as nonferrous metal, wastewater treatment, and ship building.

“Praxair has worked successfully with Samsung for more than 25 years, steadily increasing the supply of gases to the company’s main manufacturing complexes in Korea,” said B.S. Sung, president of Praxair Korea. “This is just one example of the long-standing relationships that we build with our customers as we help them drive growth in their businesses.”
