Wisconsin Oven Corp., East Troy, Wis., guarantees temperature uniformity of ±10°F at 775°F and 1075°F for its electrically heated standard horizontal aluminum quench systems. This ensures that the furnace meets AMS 2750E, Class 2 furnaces and Instrumentation Type C requirements.
Each system is designed to heat 1000 pounds of aluminum to a 950°F operating temperature, and utilizes PLC process control with HMI operator interface. Once the loads are heated to the operating temperature, they soak at temperature, and then are lowered into the quench tank, taking less than ten seconds to become fully submerged after the door starts to open.
The customer required guaranteed shipped two designed for the solution treatment of aluminum to an aluminum manufacturer.
“Wisconsin Oven’s horizontal quench systems have the capacity to process loads up to 6000 pounds with quench times as low as 7 seconds,” says Doug Christiansen, Applications Engineer. “This makes them ideal for solution treating a range of aluminum products.”
The company recently shipped two of these systems to an aluminum manufacturer. Each system is designed for a 4x4x4 foot load size, and has qualified operating temperature range of 775°F and 1075°F.
