GKN Powder Metallurgy, DuBois, Pa., has formed a strategic partnership with EOS GmbH, Germany, with the goal of designing a new, high-productivity process for laser-based metal additive manufacturing to reduce production time by 70% and overall cost by up to 50%.
The combination of GKN’s innovative metal powder, EOS Stainless Steel 316L VPro, and its additive manufacturing expertise, should make it possible to create high-performance parts designed for end-use at scale.
