Retech Systems EB melting and vacuum arc remelting furnaces installed at titanium supplier

Retech Systems LLC, a Seco Warwick company, Ukiah, Calif., announces that its titanium melting equipment has been installed at the Pennsylvania facility of the Perryman Company, a leading global supplier of titanium to the aerospace, medical, consumer, and other industries. The equipment includes electron beam melting and vacuum arc remelting furnaces.

Retech applies advanced technologies to melting, refining, casting, and atomizing reactive and refractory metals, such as titanium, superalloys, and rare earth metals. Each custom system produces products with the unique metallurgical and geometric properties that are required by the application.

Says Jim Perryman, COO of Perryman, “We met with the Retech team many times and challenged them to innovate and develop a system that included the best technology. We are very satisfied with all aspects of the outcome. The systems were delivered on time and started up without issues. We were able to move from startup to production immediately after the installation was complete.”

This project was unique in that Retech was able to capitalize on the global manufacturing capabilities provided by the Seco Warwick Group. The system production was managed by the United States team. Retech says that, given the size and scale of these systems, the successful design, manufacture, installation, and on time delivery of the equipment, along with the production objectives, was a significant achievement.
