ASM CONNECT launched for all ASM members on January 15. Since then, over 100 posts/replies have been discussed, ranging from “Is metallography an art or a science?” to “Does anyone have experience with aging times for large 17-4 PH parts?” to a great conversation about materials in literature. ASM CONNECT is a platform not only for discussions, but also as a place where chapters and affiliates can communicate with members, share information, and post events.
The Expert Directory is another resource, an online network of industry leaders, speakers, and subject matter experts. Members can create and manage their own Expert Profiles, complete with contact information, bio, areas of expertise, location availability, and more. Community members, chapters, and associations can search and review these credentials to find and connect with the perfect candidates for events, meetings, and conferences. This Expert Directory profile enhances the standard user profile by adding conference abstracts, areas of expertise, and advanced searchability.
In the absence of face-to-face chapter meetings and conferences, ASM CONNECT also recognizes member participation in virtual symposia and conferences with virtual ribbons and badges. More recognition items are coming soon.
