IMS Buehler Technical Paper of Merit Award

The IMS Buehler Technical Paper of Merit award is selected each year by the IMS Buehler Best Paper Award Committee led by Dr. Mike Keeble, U.S. Labs and Technology Manager of Buehler Ltd. Papers are chosen from manuscripts published in Metallography, Microstructure, and Analysis (MMA).

I am very pleased to announce the 2015 Buehler Best Paper award winner Maayan Cohen of the Leon Recanati Institute for Maritime Studies and the Department of Maritime Civilizations, University of Haifa for her publication titled, “The Brass Nails of the Akko Tower Wreck (Israel): Archaeometallurgical Analyses.[1]“

Ms. Cohen, accompanied by her thesis advisor Dr. Deborah Cvikel, will receive her award in-person during the IMS annual meeting held in conjunction with the Microscopy and Microanalysis (M&M) 2016 conference in Columbus, July 24-28.  Ms. Cohen will also give an oral presentation on her research during the poster session at M&M (PDP Board #36) on Monday, July 25.

MMA Editor-in-Chief Dr. Ryan Deacon recently announced his top five manuscripts selected as the 2015 Editor’s Choice Awards. Ms. Cohen’s manuscript, along with the four other wining manuscripts, is available “Free Access” through the Editor’s Choice link.

I would like to sincerely thank Drs. Deacon and Keeble and their committee members for their tireless review and selection of high quality manuscripts submitted to our journal. I would also like to acknowledge all the authors who have contributed to our journal since its inception in 2012.

Please join me in congratulating Ms. Cohen and the other 2015 Editor’s Choice Award recipients for their award winning publications.
